Thank you so much for your comment. On Sunday I'll be posting an invitation to profile adults with hearing loss and/or parents of deaf/hoh kids. I'd love it if you'd agree to be one of my profiles by answering a list of questions. I'd link your blog as well. Let me know what you think!
Yep, that's roller derby! A couple of my co-workers had been before so I wanted to see what all the fuss was about... it was fun! We joke about starting an office roller derby team now. ;)
I'd love to be one of your profiles! Thanks for the invitation!
I'm Lucy and I could eat Mexican every day. I feel naked without mascara. I hate shopping. I love to travel and take pictures of lamp posts.
I lost my hearing when I was four. I wear two digital BTEs (behind-the-ear hearing aids) and am a master at reading lips. I'm still perfecting the art of signing and speaking at the same time. Being hard of hearing is hard, but it can also be hilarious. Lonely. Peaceful. Frustrating. Just right.
I write for those of you with hearing loss because I, too, just want to know someone who gets it. And I write for those of you who don't have hearing loss because you likely know and maybe even love someone who does... and who desperately hopes that you'll get it.
Is that roller derby? Looks awesome.
